Making Sense of the Senseless

Offering a pathway out of the circle of confusion surrounding the subject of Bowling Balls

Bowling Balls Are Important

but they are not rocket science. Heck they won't even allow moving parts. Did you know the USBC doesn't have a hardness rule, but they do have a "no weight hole" rule. Try and make sense out of that

Science Created the Evolution of Bowling Balls

While there will always be motivating factors that cause creativity and exploration, a lot of time and effort is put into Research and Development

But Math Will Always Show Us How To Use Them Effectively

Ultimately there are only so many shapes and angles that fit on a lane and logic will prevail. You can alter A & B but they must always add up to X, if not X, then /

A look into the objective of Ball Talk

This will be fun but during the process you will be amazed at what happens to your game?

Watch the scientific confusion be replaced by the simple logic of the shapes and angles that make sense to you, your style, your environment, and your choices.

Share your thoughts in the Ball Talk Channel and I will organize the results on this page.

How hard does your ball "come off of the spot?"

We can strike from all of the angles that fit on the lane but only a few make sense and pass the test of transition

Some people will instinctively make this more complicated than it is ... KISS

You can use any size of a scale you want from 0 (that ball didn't do squat) to 100 (Man, that ball jumped off of the spot) I prefer to make it more logical than that so I coordinated the scale with the Lane Play Zones created for us by the dimensions of the lane. I put every angle to the pocket in one-degree increments and chose the ones that make sense and removed the angles that didn't make sense. Here is what it looks like. I provided a front view and a back view so you can get a head start on "The BowlU Way"

There are no more angles that fit on the lane that passes the test of transition.

oil moves the direction the ball rolls and the path of the ball is front to back and as the angle increases the distance before you need a different angle is clearly mapped out for you. That map remains the same and the motion you need to play the zones within the map never changes either. It is now time to understand the difference in what you see when the ball is rolling away from you vs. what you see when the ball is rolling towards you. The BowlU Way looks at everything from the perspective of the pins, which is the scoring objective of our sport.

Ball Talk isn't here to tell you what to do. It is here to listen to how you will answer the challenges of your style and your environment

There is the bowler, the ball, the lane, and the pins. We are here to combine our experiences and your experiences to make sense of the senseless.
